NAD test (intracellular)
Description
In cooperation with the University of Vilnius, this test was developed to measure the intracellular NAD level with a dry blood test. With this test developed in Europe, individuals can determine the amount of NAD in their cells, which enables valuable insights into their cell health. NAD, a vital molecule that stimulates sirtuins and parps, plays a crucial role in numerous metabolic processes, including cellular energy production and health of mitochondria. However, the NAD mirror in the body significantly decreases with age, which can affect different biological functions. This test offers people an easy way for home to monitor their NAD mirror and possibly take measures to fix the age-related NAD loss.

What is the difference between intra- and extracellular NAD?
A distinction is made between two Vorseichen NAD types:
- Intracellular NAD - As the name suggests, this is within our cells. The majority of Nad stays in the interior of the cell, where it was originally produced until it reaches its reaction. In literature, the decisive role of NAD is best described in the intracellular space.
- Extracellular NAD - Compared to intracellular NAD, this NAD can be found outside the cell in plasma, saliva and others
Body fluids where it circulates freely in the body. Extracellular NAD only makes up 5-10 percent of the total NAD.
What are the advantages of optimal NAD mirrors?
The advantages are diverse and vary depending on the person and state of health. The following improvements have been described:
- : NAD+ is involved in energy production in the cells and a higher NAD+ mirror can help to ensure that the body produces more energy and thus combats fatigue.
- Improved mental performance: NAD+ also plays an important role in the function of brain cells and a higher NAD+ mirror can improve mental performance by improving communication between brain cells and promoting memory and concentration.
- Reduced aging processes: Some studies have shown that optimal NAD+levels can help to slow the aging processes and improve the health of tissues and organs.
- Improved metabolic functions: NAD+ also plays an important role in various metabolic processes in the body, such as the formation of ATP, the "universal energy supplier" of the cells. A higher NAD+mirror can therefore help to produce the body effective energy and to improve metabolic processes.
The following advantages also develop from this:
- Increased energy
- increased performance
- Better sleep
- Reduced muscle and joint pain
- Increased immune defense against infections
- Reduced inflammation
- Reduced insulin resistance
- Improved liver function etc.
However, it is important to note that the effects of NAD+ on the body are not yet fully understood and further studies are required in order to examine the possible advantages of NAD+.
What are signs for low NAD levels?
Dozens of different harbing of NAD deficiency have already been described. A low NAD+mirror can lead to various symptoms, including:
- Fatigue and exhaustion
- Weakness and lack of energy
- Memory problems and difficulties in thinking
- Depression and mood swings
- Skin problems such as dry skin and hair loss
- Reduced performance and ability to concentrate
- Bad general condition
- Past or current diseases
However, it is important to note that these symptoms can also indicate other health problems and should therefore always be clarified by a doctor. There are also other factors that can influence the NAD+mirror in the body, such as age, nutrition and lifestyle. It is therefore important that the NAD+mirror is determined as part of a comprehensive medical examination in order to identify and specifically treat possible causes of symptoms.
I am currently taking NAD booster. What do I have to consider when testing?
In principle, a NAD test should take place before the start of a supplementation to determine your natural laboratory values. If you have already started supplementing with a NAD booster, you can control the effect using a NAD test. On the last time, take the usual dosage of the supplements one last time. The following day (= test day) perform the intracellular NAD blood test. The supplementation can then be continued with the usual dosage.
Why should you check the NAD mirror regularly?
Already at the age of 20 to 30 years, the NAD mirror begins to decrease rapidly with many people. There are also different risk factors for a low NAD mirror. This includes diseases, a suboptimal state of health, alcohol, lack of nutrients or an increased inflammation process in the body. It is therefore helpful to determine your health now based on the NAD test.
If necessary, the NAD value can be adapted and the development and course of the personal NAD level can be tracked through follow-up tests. If you convert your lifestyle or change the dosage of your supplements, it is advisable to carry out a control test. It is important that the value in the optimal, green area should be. Toxicity through high NAD levels are extremely rare and mainly occur in people with intravenous NAD infusions or excessive NAD supplementation.
When should you repeat the NAD test?
Your NAD mirror changes steadily. If you give the lifestyle a fine grinding, particularly quick changes can be expected. This can be within two to four weeks after adaptation of the lifestyle. It only makes sense after this period to check the NAD value again in order to actually confirm the effect. However, it is very important here, since each individual reacts differently to changes. Sometimes it may also be necessary to adapt the NAD level with a targeted supplementation or to help with a combination of nutritional supplements.
If your NAD mirror is in the optimal, green area and you do not change your lifestyle, the NAD levels are used every 3 to 6 months.
